Gemma is one of my favorite girl names. I love the meaning, and it sounds strong, classic, and feminine. It doesn't have the same frilly feel as Ruby or Opal. It's not very popular where I live (the U.S.), though it barely made the charts for 2008. I think that it could qualify for your list.
