Josiah and Caleb have gotten engaged!
Caleb proposed a French girl that he met when he was a senior in high school. They became really close friends, and then, soon after, more than just close friends. She is eighteen and just graduated from high school. They plan to wait until Ruby is twenty-one before they marry, and after that to move to France. Caleb is excited about this prospect and can't wait for the next three years to go by. He is expecting them to simply fly by, since he is so in love with Ruby, and Ruby with him. Louis and Nikki aren't quite sure what they think about Caleb moving so far away. They are happy, though, that he has a nice fiancée and that they are waiting until she is older to marry.
Josiah is engaged to a nineteen-year-old girl with quite an attitude at times. Clovia can be sweet and then the next moment be sour. She and Josiah have been going on and off with their relationship. One day they almost quit seeing each other altogether. In about a week, Josiah couldn't keep away any longer and asked for Clovia's forgiveness. She forgave him. That was a year ago, before Clovia and Josiah really became more mature in this matter. Josiah and Clovia will make a happy couple, and Louis and Nikki are glad that they, too, are waiting until Clovia is older. Josiah and Clovia won't marry until Clovia is twenty-two, for they are wanting to have a double-marriage with Ruby and Caleb.
Aidyn is going through college and is quite excited about going out with a young lady. He's not sure she's "the one" or not, but he is deeply desiring that she is.
Sandy and Percy are going to be starting their second year of college come fall. They are excited and ready to learn. Lysander has been studying math and science and can't help but hope he is able to get a good job. Percy is going out with a young man who she desperately hopes is "the one" for her. She finds him very attractive and paternal. She knows he would make a good father for any future children she may end up having.
Benny will be a senior in high school. He doesn't seem to be into anything at the moment. He's always bored. Abednego doesn't find to much in life, but Louis and Nikki are hoping to get him out of this stage. They know they will eventually.
Hattie and Cassie are heading into their sophomore year. They're excited. Both of them, though they still communicate with each other, sometimes even from different rooms, are in different classes. Hattie, for example, is a grade ahead in math, science, and her Spanish classes (she'd learned Latin at her private school; they still go to a private Catholic school), while Cassie is a grade behind in math and science and a grade ahead in history, literature, and English; she is taking French, and is a grade ahead in that. She and Hattie both love languages.
Ari and Tia are spending quite a bit of time together. Wherever Ari goes, Tia goes if at all possible. They're like "two peas in a pod." Nikki and Louis find it very nice that these two get along so well. Ari and Tia are almost like another set of twins.
Bryant is going into fifth grade, and Gideon is going into seventh. He was put ahead two grades since he was so smart. Gid is rather small, even for his age. Many people mistake him for a second or third grader, not a fourth grader in age. Bryant is always embarrassed when he has to explain why Gid is so small compared to him. Gid is, too. Gideon is the sweetest little thing, even at ten, and Bryant is a darling at eleven.
Ally is her happy-go-lucky self. She's always bouncing about outdoors. At nine-years-old, Aloha will be going into third grade in the autumn and can't wait, though she still finds school rather a restriction. She's never liked having to be kept indoors, and therefore loves recess.
Alex and Noey are big eight-year-olds. Nikki and Louis are so proud of these two! They've been put into different classes for their second grade year, and, even though heartbroken, Noey said, "We'll make it, Alex. We'll make it!" Nikki was so proud of her little Noah for saying this.
Even at seven-years-old, Essie hasn't said a word. At night she sometimes wakes up from a terrible nightmare and cries, but never once has she said anything. Nikki is beginning to wonder if Essie's vocal chords are messed up. She hopes nothing is wrong with her sweet, shy little Essie.
Tony is going to be in first grade! Veronica and Louis have a hard time believing that their little "cowboy" is going to be in first grade. They know their little Tony Galen Wesley Vander Halt will do great in the first grade, no doubt about it.
Zita will be in kindergarten! Veronica is heartbroken at the thought of her darling Georgie Zita Xiomara going to school. She'll be at home all alone, with nothing to do. She's begun hoping that a surprise child will come along, though if there is one hopefully not twins. Zita is shy, but very intelligent. She will do quite well in kindergarten at her private Catholic school.
