Wouldn't that depend on the way Eva is pronounced? I pronounce it like Ava, so to me they aren't close...but to someone who pronounces it Eve-uh then they would be.

TrueBut I'm assuming that 99.9% of English speakers say EE-vah, and I'm also assuming that the parents are English speakers going by the names of their other children.
