That's true, the trend in Brazil right now is to use classic names that haven't been common for generations, like Maria, Miguel, Helena, Bernardo, Sofia, Arthur, etc. Some of these names became SO popular right now that they don't even seem to sound so elegant anymore (that's just my personal impression though), but I have to agree that the current trend is by far better than the made-up names craze.
