Several years have passed since the birth of Leda, and Athena's education has begun in earnest. She joins the small training sessions her mother holds for young magicals and had begun to see tutors for a few hours a day. Bright and inquisitive, Athena does well in her studies and in her training and Hermione is fiercely proud of her firstborn. William is also thrilled to have to beautiful and healthy daughters, but has begun to feel the presence of so many women in his personal quarters! He was very excited when Hermione discovered she was pregnant again, and hoped for a son. When his third daughter was born, looking very much like her mother, William could not help but be a little disappointed. He loves his wife and his daughters very much, but wishes for a little boy to teach to ride and hunt and fight. He and Hermione are still quite young, however, and he is kept busy by his three small children and the preparations for the wedding.

Hermione is glad to see the change in Demetrius since Minerva first ascended the throne and even arranges playdates with Alexandra from time to time, though as soon as word spread that her sister-in-law was pregnant again (so soon after she had conceived!), she suddenly became very busy with wedding preparations.

The past five years have been good for Hermione's magical abilities. It seems motherhood has allowed Hermione to tap into more of her natural talent, and while her tutor still helps her with technique and good habits, he feels that the princess has surpassed him in her grasp for magic. With the Arch-Mage advancing in age, there is much talk in the magical community of Hermione taking over the position when the time comes. Hermione is now a tutor herself, to her sister Ari, as well as to any of her nieces and nephews with magical ability, but also to any children of the capital who desire to be trained (and whose parents can afford the fee). Hermione and William have discussed starting a private boarding school on their lands, since they have recently been given a dukedom and established as nobility in their right, outside of their relationship from the Queen. The title is technically William's, stemming from his own birthright from prior to the war. The couple are interested in starting a boarding school for the gifted of the kingdom, whether that gift be magical or intellectual.

The royal wedding is looming, and Hermione and her family are in quite a disarray. Minnie has wavered between whether to include Hermione in her retinue as a sister and clandestine bodyguard or to leave her behind to safeguard the country. Hermione has been stressed about the process, especially since she was pregnant during the preparation of her wardrobe. She hopes she will fit into the beautiful new clothing now that Melaina has been born. She does not share Arianna's enthusiasm for bringing her children along for long journeys, and if she and William do attend the wedding, Athena, Leda, and Melaina will stay with their grandfather the Old King or with Hermione's parents.
