I know that it doesn't come from Yvette - I should have phrased my sentence differently, as I meant to say that it looks like a heavy corruption of Yvette. I'm sorry, I was feeling a little bit tired at the time of writing that. :)

I have to say, though, that I find Avette much more visually appealing than Avett. I would be much more eager to meet a woman named Avette than I would a man named Avett. ;)
