I love the name Veronica. I think that it would be fine to use Nica or Nicci as a nickname for Veronica, but Nicci might throw people off. It looks like an Italian surname to me. I'm tempted to pronounce it NEE-chee. I would use either Nikki, Nicky, or Nicki instead.
