I think the surname Clutters from the U.S. is of English origin. A variant of Clutter, it is from, "Middle English cloutere, clutere, an occupational name for a cobbler or patcher, from an agent derivative of cloute". The word "cloute" is also a French word, so Clutter has French connections.
