[Opinions] Re: Backstreet Boy BA

I work as a cook and I have never gone to culinary school, so you could say I'm on par with someone who cooks diner food. Would you call me a chef?
Not arguing with you, I'm genuinely curious. And I don't even care about BSB, anymore. ;)
ETA: Are you talking about an actual, trained chef choosing to cook diner-like food, or you know, a diner cook ? I can no read. :P
Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

I meant a person who trained to be a chef.
My brother is a Master Chef. He worked as a cook in his teens but wouldn't have called himself a chef because he lacked the experience, practice and skills. However, even if he is cooking burgers in the backyard now... he is still a chef.
I think that trained singers (even if they are in a boy band) can be musicians. That is not to say that everyone who sings is a musician. In the same way that I can play the violin, but I am not a musician because I never took the time to learn the skill.
Ah, it's all semantics and I was in an especially picky mood yesterday.
I just took voice lessons in college and was shocked at the difficulty. I can sing... but I won't ever put in the time to become a singer. Bleh.

No biggie. I'm not being fair when I judge true musicians on whether or not they play instruments or write their own songs, especially since some of my favorite artists DON'T write their own songs and have amazing voices. I always referred to them as "singers", though, never "musicians". You're right, it's all semantics.
