It is an old man name still IMO, but usable. I like it pretty well. Not a favorite, but the -dwin sound appeals to me a lot. I also prefer it over Edward, and it's less likely to become Eddie too which is nice. I don't care much for Eddie or Ed.

I, too, don't like Eddie, and that's something cautioning me from using Edmund as a first name. To me, Eddie is one of the... well, sleaziest names / nicknames I can think of. Whenever there's some guy who's "in the game, man" with pastel collared shirts (L.A. or Miami for extra credit) and almost certainly on coke, I feel like 9 times out of 10 he's called Eddie. But I digress.
