Max and Luka have formally adopted 7-year-old Parker, son of friends of the family who tragically died in a car accident. The family have known Parker since he was four years old and they became friends with his parents who Max would see at the school gates every day while dropping Tasha off into the same class. With the mixture of children in the household, it made sense to also take in Parker who, prior to his parents' deaths, was already struggling at school. Max decided to take Parker out of school for a few months and teach him at home while he came to terms with the massive upheaval in his life. Since the other children use Makaton and speak German sparingly, Max and Luka have also been teaching Parker these ways to communicate with his siblings and he has taken to this very well. A few days a week, Luka also takes Parker with him to Kade's swimming practises but Parker seems more interested in the pool's aquarium than going in the water himself.
Meanwhile...
Octavia is nearly all grown up and in college! She's thinking hard about her future and what she wants to do but continues to be a very caring, genuine young lady who cares deeply for her family and loves spending time with all the children - especially Tasha.
Kade attends 3 schools across the week; he takes core subjects at the mainstream high school, spends some afternoons at a special school where he is involved in lots of practical learning and social skill development to help with his autism, and also has time out of the curriculum to pursue his swimming which he receives a scholarship for and is hoping to be scouted for the National Juniors when he turns 14 next month.
Tasha was recently diagnosed with PTSD due to her horrific start in life but she hasn't let it get her down. Max is very involved with her schooling and often goes in when Tasha has meltdowns, meanwhile the staff have been really accommodating for the youngest Geissler-Morse and has set up a sensory, safe room for Tasha to go when it all gets a bit too much for her. After a rocky start, Tasha has bonded with big sis Taytay and the two love spending girlie days together. Tasha likes getting arty and messy.
Note- As your signup form says your family would only like 3 children, I'm not planning on preparing anything for you for Round 5 (final round). Let me know if you'd like to change this preference or if you'd like to sign up with another family.I think the family can squeeze one more adoption in please!
