[Opinions] Re: WDYT of Astrid?
in reply to a message by melpy
Aster means star but Asteraceae is also the latin name for the daisy/ aster family of flowers because daisies look like little suns/ stars. Aster and daisy are interchangeable words/ synonyms for the same variety of flower. So Aster is a possible nn for Astrid and Daisy or Star are derived from Aster.I also thought it was interesting that except for the y in Daisy all the letters in the name Daisy are found in the name Astrid. Same for Star, all thr letters can be found in Astrid. Using Daisy or Star as a nn though would be a bit of a stretch since they are really nn's for Aster.
