When I was about ten I borrowed a book from the school library that featured a girl called
Harriet. I thought it the ugliest name I'd ever seen, and it reminded and still reminds me of "rat" for some reason. (Sorry to be so blunt.)
Then I found it was the name of a great-great aunt of mine, who was really a
Henrietta. That name reminds me of "hen" but I like it a good deal more than
Harriet, and
Hallie, not
Harriet, would be my nickname of choice.
