Yeah, Elis and Alice are quite similar. But since the Hultin family was Swedish speaking (as far as I know), they pronounced the names a bit differently: in Elis the stress is stronger on the first syllable (EH-lis), whereas in Alice the stress is more or less equal on both syllables or slightly leaning towards the latter syllable (AH(L)-LIS or ah(l)-LIS).
