I am Polish, and while I know a fair few Olgas and most of them are really nice, this doesn't make me like the name. There is something quite harsh about it, and it doesn't sound overly interesting to me probably because I hear it quite regularly. It's not as much as overlooked, but just quite common here, or at least in my surroundings for sure.
And there is that thing with
Ola that
Ari. mentioned -
Ola is a default nickname for
Aleksandra which I think is quite a pity because this name could be nicknamed in so many ways, not just one, especially that it's really common. - Some Olgas I know also go by
Ola more or less regularly, which doesn't make the name stand out.
