It sounds a lot like Ruth, and I don't think it's weirder than Verity.
It reminds me of a town called Truth or Consequences, and I bet someone with this as a FN would get some "or Dare?! Haha" comments, during introductions. But then, I somewhat like Dare as a MN, so I wouldn't dismiss Truth altogether just because of that.
It'd bring to mind Sojourner Truth, as a MN.
