[Opinions] Re: From Paternity Court...
I used to post here years ago. I just think it’s worth calling out problematic behaviour when I see it, because this really is classist. Notice all the other times I’ve engaged happily with people :)Like I say, these posts are meant for circle-jerks and it’s just rubbish.

It occurred to me that it might start drama, but I care enough about what I’m saying to deal with that. If it makes you feel better, there will be so many more mistakes in your life, and they’ll probably be a lot more fun than message board drama!

Oh well I read about her behaviour. You should never take a fascist’s words or behaviour personally, but always take them seriously. It’s funny, it’s been years since I posted here originally and there are people I remember positively, but sometimes someone will pop up or I’ll just randomly remember them and I’ll be like, “You, you said [blank] to me one time and I hated it and I have not forgotten!” I’m too changeable for grudges, but it’s amazing what we remember.

Exactly, never accept a criticism from someone like that. The Adolph post alone could have just been trolling (still very bad taste and shouldn’t happen) but when you combine it with the racial slur, my neo-nazi alarm really starts sounding.

Quote An that thing she said about Sia's Movie.
They say ignorance is bliss and I am happy to stay ignorant about this.

That’s okay — ignorance is bliss means that if you don’t know about something then it can’t impact you negatively, you’re happier because you don’t know. Kind of like, “What they don’t know can’t hurt them,” if you know that one :)

I decided I didn’t want to know what she said because it would probably make me mad, so I’m happier not knowing what she said :)

What was your username?I agree with you, btw. I kind of hate it when people ask about a name and talk about how terrible it is, and then the whole thread just becomes an echo chamber. Makes me want to be contrarian just for the hell of it.I also get icky feelings when creative spellings are put down as "trashy", "illiterate", etc. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind here, it's just how I feel.

It was my name, which I don’t use publicly online any more. Please feel free to message me :) Those are my two reactions too, as I’ve just shown! The icky feeling is such a hard, knee jerk reaction too. No one who is illiterate has chosen to be illiterate, they’ve either been oppressed or let down in some way and it’s actually incredibly sad. I occasionally encounter people who are illiterate and it breaks my heart and makes me angry.Edit: Also, I grew up “trashy” and very happy!

I didn't grow up "trashy", but I grew up working class. Actually, I guess compared to some people, I did grow up "trashy", but I never saw it that way. It's complicated. :)

Yeah, I’m working class really, I was raised very properly and the kids at school made fun of me for being posh, but I feel like I just walked out of Oliver in some situations.

Maybe I am being harsh but I think it’s equal to what I’m responding to here. It’s like… no one was going to like the name, so this is just a space to be judgemental, which… whatever. It’s boring. But there is also a huge difference between, “What were they thinking!” and, “These people are illiterate morons [a eugenicist term] who never finished high school.”
