I would think it was an odd name.
All I can think of when I read it is “swine”… even though that’s probably not at all how you pronounce it.
I still don’t like it even if it’s pronounce with the short I sound.

I would most definitely use Ford as a nickname.
I know a young boy named Ford, and he has certainly changed my perception of the name…
I still don’t love it, but it’s an enormous improvement on Swynford.
