I feel extremely sad that Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin had to choose to cast doubt on her gender by choosing the name
George Sand. Amantine Lucile Aurore is such a pretty combo!

Today George Sand would probably identify as non-binary. She wore men's clothes and wasn't much for 'womanly' activities.It's not like George Eliot or the Bronte sisters at all.
