Tired, honestly.
I'm a '90s kid, so I knew and knew of so many who had it either as a first or middle name. It got very overused as a middle name, I think, almost like a placeholder - even when it seemed out-of-place. (I knew a
Mary Nicole, and that was always a bit incongruous to me.)
There's nothing wrong with the name, I just think it had a major moment over a few decades and that moment has passed.
