[Facts] Re: Curious about my daughter's name.... Shallan *Ü*
I dunno... "Shallan" looks like one of those created names to me, although maybe it does have some Celtic background to it. Maybe Daividh or Phyllis might know, as they're both really into the Celtic stuff.I did discover that a "shallon", however, is a species of evergreen shrub discovered by Lewis and Clark on their famous expedition into the wilds of North America. The Indians' name for the fruit of this shrub was "salal", and Lewis changed that word to "shallon" to refer to the entire plant. Here's where you can see a picture of the shrub:http://www.uky.edu/ArtsSciences/ModernStudies/HumSocSci/lc94/Section2/PhaseX/Scientific/Botany/Botany.html-- Nanaea

NanaeaSince my usual source of info is oot, I'll see if a new contact may know (Seosai is from the Emerald Isle, too, and a Gaelic speaker herself).
Ray Mac Manus is also oot (another contact), but I won't knock on his e-mail unless it was vitally important (international security rests on an answer). :DPhyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)PS (OT): You can catch a glimpse of us at http://www.irishmilwaukee.com (I'm the one on page 6, sleeveless).

SelwynNeither. I'm the brunette (or is that what you mean by *red(?)* hair?). I am in the photo of the Mean Rang group. You may be nosy. As long as I'm not on the FBI's Most Wanted list, or anything like that, I don't mind. ;DPhyllis (aka Sidhe Uaine or Gaia Euphoria)

SelwynYeah, that's me.I took a closer look at it online and I think I look more like a redhead even though I am a brunette. I should've realized the color was off when my blue sweater came up white. Go figure. *rolleyes*Until next post
