Dear Funk Family,

We have found seven children whom we believe will suit your family. Their names are Adelaide Rose "Addy", Samantha Joy "Sammy", Nicolette May "Nicky", Sara Josephine, Michael Ambrose "Mikey", Collin Peter, and Zachary Elian "Zach". Addy is from Scotland, as is Sammy. Both girls were born to single mothers who could not care for them. Nicky, Sara, and Mikey are triplets from the Ukraine, but were given English names by the orphanage they were found at. Nothing is known of their history. Collin was born in England, but his mother died of cancer two years after he was born, and his father died not long ago in an auto accident. Zach was given up for adoption because his parents could not deal with his disability any more. Zach has autism, and has more or less shut himself off from the world.

Addy is nearly 3 months old. She has hit all of her developmental milestones so far, and likes the company of other people. She is completely healthy and ready to belong to a family. Addy has a stuffed teddy bear given to her by her mother. We would appreciate it if she was allowed to keep it.

Sammy is two years old. Her mother, Ella, had problems with depression and schizophrenia. Sammy is a joyful child and full of laughter. She is very smart and already knows most of her colors, numbers, shapes, and letters. She cannot read yet, but we are sure she will be reading soon.

Nicky, Sara, and Mikey are seven year old triplets. They speak only English, but look very European. Nicky enjoys dancing, Sara likes horses, and Mikey is into carpentry. The kids get along well together and are great problem solvers. Nicky is legally blind in her right eye, but it causes her no trouble. When Sara heard that you have horses, she said that she hoped you would teach her to ride them. Nicky and Sara are identical, but you will have no trouble telling them apart. Nicky is quiet and reserved while Sara is outspoken and vivacious. Mikey is midway between the two, and he is a good scholar.

Collin is a ten year old boy. He likes science, and has recently developed an interest in ice hockey. He would like to learn to skate, and possibly play on a team with other boys his age. Collin enjoys listening to music and somewhere along the line he picked up how to play the guitar.

Zach is fourteen. He has severe autism, and does not speak. He communicates somewhat through sign language, but most of the time is in his own little world. He seems very smart. Zach is intrigued by stock car racing (ie NASCAR). He likes to watch the races. His favorite color is green, so be sure there is plenty of it around the house.
