[Facts] Re: Pron. of Ligia
in reply to a message by Haven
It's a greek name, means "melodious" and is a character in Sienkiewicz's novel: Quo Vadis?. Vinicius, her lover boy, says "... her family calls her Ligia, because she was born in the country of the Ligians..." Ligians was an old germanic civilization.

The original Polish version of the name is Ligia. You can check at: http://univ.gda.pl/~literat/quovadis/index.htm (the Polish text on-line).
Thanks! :-)
Sorry, Soul... forgot to tell I'm in Argentina and I read the spanish version, a long time ago... Anyway, in Spanish, the pronunciation is LEE-hee-ah.
