Lucot indeed seems French, from a peasant background (peasants liked to add a -ot in the end of the names, as a pet form). Lucot would be in the origins a pet form of Luc.
The real French prononciation wouldn't be "loo", but a French "u" (there's no sign for it on this site's list...). Like in Victor Hugo, "du pain"...
