The Welsh way, (which would make sense seeing as I am Welsh!)
'SEH ren'. Sorry, I'm not very good at writing pronounciations

Hi there! Seren is such a pretty name, doesn't it mean "star"? I couple years ago there was a Welsh lady named Seren on another board and there was a whole thread devoted to the proper pronunciation of her name. We figured out that it's like the word "seven" with an 'r' instead of a 'v' (and seven pronounced SEVENN, not sevinn). How's that sound to you? ~SHILOH~

I could very well be wrong, I'm not a fluent Welsh speaker, but I think it's pronounced with a sound that's somewhere between an 'r' and a 'v'. It's quite trilled.Yes, Seren does mean 'star'. I'm currently ransacking all the name boards I know trying to find names I like that mean 'moon', 'sun' etc!

I have a suggestion then!!!I'm sure someone will be perfectly happy to correct me (or jump on me and bash my head in LOL... just kidding), but I believe Isadora means "gift of the moon". At least that's what the meaning was where I looked it up. I think that's quite nice. Plus, there's the usual Celeste, Andromeda, etc. What do you think of Seren Isadora (if you were looking for a mn) or just Seren and Isadora for sisters? I liked Haven Isadora, personally. I still love Haven but Isadora's not on my list anymore. Oh and what do you think of Zekiah Seren, that's the combo I like. Some people think Zekiah is boyish but I don't think so, and someone else said that Seren is also a boy's name. I've never seen anything about that. Do you know if Seren is routinely used as a boy's name or if it was just some misguided person who thought it was a boy's name? Also, about the pronunciation... I'm just saying it like Seven with an 'r'. I realize that may not be quite right after reading your post, but I don't think it's such a big deal, after all isn't it a compliment to someone to think something of theirs is beautiful enough that you want to use it? Plus I have Welsh ancestors. I'll do my best to pronounce it right, but no guarantees. ~SHILOH~

My opinion...I think I would be pronouncing it as you do. To look at, Seren looks like a typo of serene, and I don't find it very feminine or pretty. Sorry. I do like Alice, but I don't think it flows with Seren. I would suggest Seren Jade. And, I, too, am not good at writing out pronunciations...so don't feel bad. :)
