THANKS so much, Pavlos! I have a daughter named Katherine (Kate) and I've been curious about the origin and pronunciation of Aikaterine for some time now. The baby name sites/books I've visited/read have never included it.If you don't mind, could you tell me if this name is still used in Greece today or is a more modern version preferred such as Katerina?

Very welcome :)
Aikaterine *is* considered somewhat old-fashioned, however it is very much in use in contemporary Greece :) I can compare it to Elizabeth: Many Katherines in Greece do call themselves Katerina, pretty much like Elizabeths go by Liz :)
