[Opinions] can you pronounce this correctly?
i just want to test out how pronouncable this name is to those who don't know welsh,
without looking it up, how would you pronounce:
Gwenhwyver? (i changed the f to a v to make it a bit easier)
i can't think of a way to anglicise this name without it looking made up so its the welsh spelling, or no name. I prefer this pronounciation to guinevere.

I'd say GWEN-hweh-veer, which is probably really wrong.
gwen-high-ver. I am sure it is a pretty name when not mauled by my attempts to say it.
Gwenn-[w]i-ver . Sort of like Jennifer but with a Gw . . .
I once met someone called Gwenhwyfar (she was Welsh). It's a much nicer spelling than the medieval French version, for my money.
It's gwen-ih-vuh -kind of like a cross between guinevere and jennifer (well, that's how I always think of it, anyway!). I think changing the f to a v does make it much more obviously pronouncable to english speakers.
I can't read Welsh worth beans; my guess was like Guinevere until I saw the last sentence in your post. Off to look it up!
Couldn't find it in the database...erm, how *do* you prn it? :o)
