Sorin could be pronounced several ways as it is written: SOAR-in, SO-rin, sur-IN, so-RI-in, etc.
Without having ever heard the name and without some cultural or regional info. (etc.), one doesn't know how to pronounce the letters or where to place stresses by looking at the standard written format.
