apologies for thinking it was a twisted spelling! I still prefer Caleb (though I dislike it), but interesting fact. I might just go and look him up!

Axum was, more specifically, a kingdom in Ethiopia. It was also the name of a minor character-of-the-week in Star Trek: Voyager. :-p

I reckon he would be an awesome namesake!
Only obviously if it is intentional. I like Caleb a lot (one of those names I would use if my SO loved it...a definite compromise name), and I love history...I would consider spelling it Kaleb now. I think historical namesakes are great...I plan on one of my daughters having the mn Maatkare which was the throne name of Hatshepsut as well.
