I like Magda because it doesn't give me images of a Biblical prostitute. I do however think it could work well as a nn for Magdalene if you decide just to compromise. That way it won't be wierd for him to call her Magdalene and for you to call her Magda.

You do realize that Mary Magdalene was mistaken as a prostitute
and that most churches now do not see her as such? Furthermore, she played a very important role in Jesus' life and I would be using Magda/Magdalene in her honor.
