[Opinions] Veronica
Trying to add girls names to my list, I'm letting Veronica grow on me.What do you think, to be honest, the first image that leaps to my mind is a snooty girl. but trying to get past that.

I never understood the "snooty" Veronica image. I think, perhaps, Veronica gets that bad reputation because the name calls to mind a very beautiful girl/woman... and then people assume she is snobby. I love the name. The sound is very lush and substantial.

I see someone very powerful. No direct person, just a very intelligent, powerful woman. It's high on my list, though unlikely to be used.

I really like Veronica. It's similar in look and feel to my favorite name, Victoria. I think everyone probably thinks "rich and snotty" because of the character in the Archie comic books, but I think of the sultriness and sexiness of the film star Veronica Lake. The reason I would never use Veronica, though, is what I consider the inevitability of the nickname Ronnie, which I despise.

I agree w/ Clippy: Veronica Mars. And trust me, that is a pretty good conection.
I, personally, loved the show "Veronica Mars" and because of the character, I now love the name, as well.

It's nice enough, I know a girl named Veronica who I don't really like but I also think of the show Veronica Mars too.
I've never seen it but a former teacher of mine quit teaching for a year to write for the show so I heard a bit about it from her, and from what I remember that should be a good association.
However I hate the nn Ronnie but Vera is very nice.

First impression? Rich and snotty. Not to say that a sweetheart couldn't pull off the name though.I have a similar first reaction to the name Victoria.

My step-grandmother (whom i never met) and my step-aunt are named Veronica. My aunt goes by Vicki or Vic all the time, I didn't even know her name was Veronica until about 2 years after I met her!I like the name, and it represents family, but i'm big on how the name looks when I write it (kinda weird, I know) and it just doesn't look pretty. That's all I have against it, nice choiceTia

The first "person" who leaps to my mind...http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v678/TheGreatPaperClip/VeronicaMars.bmpAnd as far as I'm concerned, that's a good thing; Veronica Mars was a smart, tough girl who still managed to be emotionally raw and likeable. While the show isn't on the air anymore, it's still my favorite TV program ever. Veronica's in my top five girls' names every now and then, but I don't know if it's a name I'd actually use. I really love it (I love the letter V), but I love some other names just a bit more.

I like Veronica. It isn't my absolute favourite, but I am fond of it.
Ronny or Roni as nn put me off, but Vera (or even Very) would be cute.
I must've watched too much Veronica Mars, because now that is the image I have of a Veronica- headstrong and spunky.

Honestly, I really hate the name. The sound is so harsh and all the sounds together just sound bad to me. And the nn Ronny feels very trashy.I do, too, think of it as a name for a snooty girl.

Bleck, I never even thought of the nn Ronny (or any of its variants) that kind of puts me off the name even more, because yes, I do too think it's awful and trashy.
