I think they're perfectly useable, though together would be a bit much. I find
David really, really boring though.
Katarina would probably be
Kat,
Kate,
Katie,
Katarine,
Kit,
Kitty, Reen, and
Rina to me, but I'm a bit more liberal on NN's than most people. She would "go by"
Katarina. I really love
Katarina lately.
ETA: I can totally take an
Abraham seriously. Much more seriously than a
Rudolph or a
Julius even. I don't think it's out there or too-heavy at all. It's got that long A which has
America's baby naming populace so enthralled right now. It's familiar and not difficult to pronounce. I don't see problems with it.
Edit again: And
Abram really seems like a cop-out to me, to the point where I roll my eyes when I hear one's name being called.
