Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lovell,
Thank you for your interest in the Time Travel Adoption Agency. We have been lucky enough to find siblings for you to adopt. They will be, we hope, an ideal addition to the family you have already in Nora, Tilly, and Eva.
These are the Hjelmer girls; Rosalie Ruth, 6, is standing, and Johanna Gertrude, 3, is seated. Rosalie is a cautious, fretful girl who tends to worry but has a beautiful, sunny smile when thinking about happy things. She has not yet started school but looks forward to doing so. Johanna, on the other hand, takes life blissfully and almost always has a grin to share--though when she doesn't, it's because her temper is showing!
The Hjelmer girls' parents died recently of influenza, and so it is important that we are able to fit them with a new parent or parents as soon as possible. Thank you for your generous offer to consider taking them in. All of our potential adoptees understand that they may be requested to go by new names in their new lives and are not averse to the possibility, though we at the Time Travel Adoption Agency recommend that a new parent or parents keep at least some vestiges of their old names.
Sincerely yours,
Arraya Light
P.S. After having the girls a few months, should you indeed confirm your adoption, we would be delighted to receive a letter in return; it is important for us to follow up on our charges and see if the children are adjusting to their vastly different ways of life.

Dear Arraya Light,
I'd like to thank you most sincerely on behalf of my family (the Lovells) for bringing Rose and Annie into our life. We decided to keep their given names (they're such beautiful classics - why change them?) but like our biological girls they've instantly developed new nick names.
Rose is really coming out of her shell. She's really loving having so many little sisters and is great with them all. She also loves having Nora as a big sister and they've become firm friends. You were absolutely right about her smile - it barely ever leaves her face now and it is truly beautiful.
Annie is such a lively little girl. She really reminds me of myself (whereas all the others are quiet and calm like Joshua). She's infuriatingly stubborn and extremely strong-headed. She's only just turned four years old and yet I have an immense respect for the way she sticks up for what she believes in (she was adamant in telling a little boy at her nursery school that Santa does exist! )
Rose and Annie have completed our family. We chose to adopt because we felt we could share our love with children less fortunate than our own but we have no idea just how much love we would receive from those children. They're truly beautiful and I couldn't love them anymore than I do.
Again, all our sincerest thanks,
Millie, Joshua and the girls xxx
