Our ex-Taoiseach (P.M.) put me off this name forever(shudder). He went by Bertie by the way. Other Bartholomews I have come across go by Barry.

I had to look up what a Taoiseach is. I thought it was some kind of Tao-Kung-Fu master. Oops :)! Yeah that Bartholomew looks like a real fun guy... Bertie is a nice idea for Bartholomew though, I love Bertie. Barry is good too, but not as cute as Bertie. He looks very un-Bertie-liike though... not nearly jovial enough.
I also really like Barnaby and love the happy nn Barney, so that is also great. Lately I just love how loooong and meandering Bartholomew is, like a slow-moving river.
