NMSAA, they should have stuck with Jessica or the original biblical form which escapes me at the moment. However, none of those names are my style at all anyways.

Iscah or Yiscah :-)
As I said in my own post, Jesca was the Elizabethan form of the original Biblical name (probably partially via I -> J switching, also seen in such names as Iason -> Jason and Iakobos -> Jacob), and Jessica's simply an elaboration of that.
I used to theorise that Jessica could be a combo of Iscah and Jesse, but was proven wrong upon further research. Shakespeare probably actually combined Jesca and the original Iscah to arrive at Jessica.
