I like
Philip. It's my grandfather's name, so I'm partial to it because of that. It's a very warm, kind name, with an outdoorsiness to it.
Phil could be avoided same as any other nickname. Don't call them that, and if people do, correct them. In my experience people will call your child whatever you introduce them as, and if you introduce them with a full name they might ask if you call them a nickname.
I already have combos
Philip Augustin,
Philip Cassander,
Philip Tavish, and
Philip Trevelyan, but not a huge fan of any of those anymore, except
Philip Cassander is pretty awesome. I'd take it in a different direction, like
Philip Teal (perfect!),
Philip Everett, or
Philip Glen.
