[Facts] Re: India names
in reply to a message by Helen Richardson
Helena, go to this website:
http://www.eponym.org/hq.html
Click on the country of India from the map, and you will be brought to a page with a whole bunch of links for Indian name sites.
If you don't find the meanings of some of your friends' names there, come back and post the names which you weren't able to find. I have a reference book in my possession titled *The Penguin Book of Hindu Names* which I bought on my last trip over to England, and I'll be happy to do look-ups for you.

Yep, I once knew a penguin called Mahatma...
"Who can take a sunrise...?"
"...Sprinkle it with dew? / Cover it in chocolate and a miracle or two?"
The Gandhi Man can.
But he's not in my Penguin Book of Hindu Names. :)

Did you buy the companion volume, "The Penguin Guide to Tasty, Affordable Meals In Britain"? If you follow its dining recommendations, you'll get to use most of those Hindu names.
