See, Ambrose always makes be think of Ambrose Bierce and he was such an odd, strange, weirdly hilarious curmudgeon that I love that vibe he gives to the name.
Another namesake which Ambrose has, apparently, is Ambrose Burnside, after whom sideburns were named. Thanks wiki! I've learnt something new today and now I can sit on my arse and watch trash tv :P
So... Ambrose Bierce and sideburns man! Awesome!
And so I think it's a pretty cool name. I love it as a middle name - I really do - and its quirky, grumpy, old-man-ness, verging on hipster but too uncool even for them. And as a first name, I wouldn't complain seeing little Ambroses running around!
