Drew and Julia were married for just four months when Julia found out she was expecting. Two months later, they found out it was twins! Noah Darcy Miller and Luke Benjamin Miller were born a month prematurely. Noah spent thirty-six days in the hospital, and Luke spent forty-one days there. Drew and Julia weren't expecting so much in the way of medical issues with their twin boys; however, they quickly became accustomed to the NICU procedure. Now at home, the boys are doing well. They needed the time in the hospital to let their bodies finish developing. Noah has some visual deficits, but appears otherwise healthy now. Luke weighed only two pounds, three ounces at birth, and had some trouble feeding initially; however, now that he's gained more weight, he's doing a lot better.

This year, Drew and Julia moved from their two bedroom apartment to a three bedroom rancher in Pennsylvania, about 15 miles north of their apartment. In order to better care for the twins, Julia quit her job, and Drew has been taking on more projects at work to compensate. The move puts them just three miles from Drew's job, making his commute very short. Noah and Luke are toddling around the house now. Julia has quite the time keeping glasses on Noah and keeping Luke from knocking over books, knick-knacks, or anything else he can get his hands on.

Drew and Julia adopted a dog this year. Drew convinced Julia that every kid needs a dog--and his boys would be no exception. So, they did some research and found that labradors are friendly, family dogs. They found a four year old black lab who needed home (the family was moving into a small city apartment and couldn't bring him along). The Millers were glad to give him a new home, with plenty of room to run outside in the yard. Noah and Luke are big fans of the dog as well--and he absolutely adores them. Then, last month, Julia found out she was expecting again (and was already three months along). She and Drew are preparing for the arrival of their third child in a few short months. Noah and Luke are excited about a new brother or sister too.

Drew and Julia's lives are very busy ones. This year, Drew got a job with a new company as a full-time consultant (and it pays better too). The only problem--the company is located an hour from their current location. So, Drew and Julia packed everyone up and moved to a two story home in eastern Pennsylvania. Noah and Luke are three now, and are busy attending preschool. Other than Noah's vision problems, he and Luke are just like any other young boys. Their sister, Bekah, is nine months old now. She was born a day prior to her due date and came home after just two and a half days in the hospital. Drew and Julia weren't quite sure what to do with themselves since there wasn't a lengthy hospital stay prior to her discharge. They were happy, however, that their little girl was healthy. River is enjoying his new neighborhood, and he is getting to know all the neighbors' dogs.

The kids took some time to adjust to the move, but are slowly making new friends. The four boys have become especially close to each other. This year, Drew and Julia adopted a cat for the kids to take care of. They are already used to helping care for River, but Julia thought it would be nice for them to take care of another animal too. Lincoln is a playful grey cat who actually drives the dog crazy; however, Bekah loves him and has adopted him as her own. Zane chose to name the cat Lincoln, since his class was studying Abraham Lincoln at the time.

This year, Drew and Julia adopted a little boy named Joshua. His single mother recently passed away from lung cancer, and he has never met his father. He was put into the foster care system, and the Miller's read about him in one of their monthly adoption newsletters. They now have four eight year old boys in the house, which makes things pretty crazy. The boys have welcomed Josh into the family and immediately included him in all their activities. Julia has her work cut out for her, caring for seven children (six of them boys). Then, the family added to the chaos. Drew and Julia adopted a Beagle puppy, Jack, for the kids so that the older boys could learn how to raise and train a puppy. The boys love the project, and even Jamie gets in on the action from time to time. Bekah, 6, has started taking care of River, since the boys are very involved with Jack. She is also Julia's nearly constant shadow. After all, in a house of men, the girls have to stick together (or so Drew says).

Drew and Julia celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary this year. They had expected to be done having children; however, Julia wasn't entirely surprised when she found out she was pregnant again. For Bekah's sake, she hoped that they would be having a little girl, but when the time came, Drew and Julia welcomed another little boy--his name Elijah Matthew. The boys immediately welcomed him into their "pack", and Elijah is rarely, if ever, not in someone's arms, being carried or played with.
