Maya is pretty enough, but it's so common here (I live in Australia if that matters), nowadays that I'm getting sick of hearing it.
I agree with you that it sounds quite modern even with the history tied to the name. While I don't think it's the most out of place name next to sisters named
Edith,
Rose and
Bess, it's not a name I'd be expecting to hear in the sibset.
