Matilda Frances is nice! One of the best dogs I've ever had was
Matilda, so it has associations for me, but good ones.
Cordelia rather draws attention to itself, but it's likely to end up as
Delia for everyday use, so you should consider how you feel about that.
Edith Jane are good together and with either
Cordelia or
Matilda as a fn.
I knew a human
Matilda once who was known as
Mattie all the time; she was French but lived in an English-speaking society. I'd prefer
Tilly as a nn, and I can't see why
Matea would be an improvement on
Matilda at all.
I find
Sarah soporifically bland.
Matilda Frances Sarah would be good, though.
As for
Sherlock ... I once almost met a bloodhound named
Sherlock! (He existed, but the visit fell through.) I've always liked the notion of having three dogs - any variety, but all eager sniffers - and naming them
Sherlock, Mycroft and Watson.
Hugo fits well, I think; but I'm afraid I group
Nathaniel with
Sarah as cures for sleep deprivation.
By the way, I was at school with a girl, Scottish ln, called
Edith Linda Marie.
