I really like Melody. I was so wary of it at first thinking it was another dumb word name that sounded trashy but I got over that pretty quickly because I realised I loved the sound and so didn't care what other people thought. It's in my top 10.

I used to love this name as a kid. I still sort of like it but I would never use it.

Melody is lovely. I like the musical sound and meaning. It has gentle soothing quality.

Not a fan. It just seems insubstantial to me.

I'd hate to be a Melody. Mostly because it seems both sentimental and flimsy, but mostly because I'm tone-deaf!

I don't think it's usable - the kids at school could turn it into Smellody and then she'd get bulliedJust kiddingI don't like it actually. I find it tacky and precious at the same time and I'm not keen on the sound of it

It's nice. I like the way it sounds.
I have an image of it being sort of ... rustic, innocent, delicate? not very sophisticated or powerful? but, not in a really negative way. It's picturesque. It's just cutesy enough, to be too cutesy for me to consider using it for a daughter. Harmony is about the same - I like the sound of Melody more.
Melody is better than Elodie but not as good as Melanie.

I like it more than Harmony, Melissa, and Elodie.

I think it is pretty, but prefer the French spelling Mélodie due to the fact that it looks so much more interesting and is less common in the US.

It's pretty, but I don't like it nearly as much as Melanie, which I tend to confuse it with when I hear it spoken.
When I was really little I had this doll that was called Melody (by the company) that when you squeezed her arms, legs, body and head, she made different honking or squeaking noises. It was in no way melodic. lol

I knew one Melody that I met when I was 7. I had never heard the name Melanie. My name is Melissa. I do prefer Elodie because it seems less precious and more refined. I like the sound of the name overall but it is not on my own list.

Elodie to me is extremely precious and posh, the opposite of Melody.
I love Melissa.
