[Opinions] Monet
this was the name of a little girl in the movie store. She was about 3, with long curly brown hair. She was cute, and kind of looked like a Monet...but perhaps her parents were a bit ambitious naming her after a famous artist?

There is an actress named Monet Mazur who was in Torque.
I think it implies too much. Like naming your child Shakespeare - what a thing to live up to! And imagine the ridicule if the child's artwork was awful at school. The sound is pretty, of course.
I think it's a nice name but I would only use it for a middle name.
I think that I'd rather hear of a Claudia, because Monet just doesn't sound that pretty to me. Moreover, I've met a few Monets, and their parents haven't actually heard of the artist--they think it just 'sounds pretty', and that takes away a lot of the appeal to me.
I'd be more inclined to use first names of artists. Hmm...I wouldn't mind having a Rene (Magritte), Vincent (Van Gogh), Edgar (Degas), Claude (Monet), Georgia (O'Keefe), or Mary (Cassat)--though I have to admit, Cassat would be an interesting middle name for a boy.

I think it is pretty cute for a little girl. Hopefully the parents like the work of the artist, or it has some other meaning besides just looking pretty.
