Jack and I have known each other for almost our entire lives. We grew up on the same street and started kindergarten together. Our mothers would always set up play dates between us, so it wasn't long until we were best friends. We started dating in our sophomore year of high school, but we broke up after graduation because I was moving across the country to Boston for college while he was staying in Seattle.
A few years ago, I stopped at a local coffee shop before class, and guess who I ran into! Apparently, Jack had just gotten a job as an architect for a rather prominent agency and had been transferred to Boston. We decided to meet up after my class to catch up on things. It was just like old times and we immediately hit it off again, so only five months later, he proposed while we were vacationing in Hawaii. I, of course, said yes.
The wedding wasn't a huge, lavish event. It was just family and close friends, perhaps fifty people at the most. The reception was held at the Four Seasons. Afterward, Jack and I spent three weeks traveling throughout Europe for our honeymoon (I especially enjoyed Italy).
For the sake of simplicity, I decided to take on Jack's name, so I am now officially Kate Elizabeth Tennyson! We've settled in a nice brownstone in the city and can't wait to start our lives together.
