What are your opinions on the name Morgana for a girl? I think it sounds dark and mysterious all while being bright and happy. I like that. I also love that it's very uncommon, I've never met anyone named Morgana. I like Morgan on a girl as well, don't get me wrong at all (very nice unisex name, imo); but Morgana hits me differently.

I used to know a Morgana, in college. It didn't sound strange at all in real life. Independently, I've always loved the name (and prefer it to a feminine use of Morgan).

My friend's young daughter is a Morgana. I was so excited that she chose that name, it's so witchy and elegant. The Morgana I know is a very cheerful little blonde girl and she wears it well. They call her "Gana" for short sometimes.

I never cared at all for Morgan, but Morgana is just beautiful.

Morgana's one of my all time favourites, pretty much for all the reasons you mentioned. I very much get a calm, thoughtful, intelligent, creative, down to earth feel, but with a wild, passionate side. I always get images of the sea, sort of calm before the storm. Anyway, it's a beautiful, unusual name, that I think would make a great choice!

I much prefer it to Morgan for a girl, myself. That's partly due to a couple of unfortunate personal associations, though, if I'm honest. Morgana feels fresher at any rate.
