[Opinions] Re: Some Yoruba names
in reply to a message by Felie
I'm W.African (though not Yoruba) and these names are very common especially if you live in the western region. I've met every name on the list.
Some names have seemingly fallen out of style: Bose. Yewande. Bolanle. Dada.
I must point out that Adegoke is a "family" name more than a first name.
Ayo is a prefix name & a NN meaning "joy" so you're more likely to meet an Ayobami, Ayomide (joy has come) Ayomikun, Ayodele etc
Ekundayo is not as popular as it once was, but about 10 years ago you couldn't throw a stone without hitting a Yoruba boy named Kayode.
