I really dislike Madison. The only excuse I can find for it is that, perhaps, some parents liked the idea of a Mad daughter but found Madeline etc too popular and went for Madison instead. And now, presumably to make it more distinctive/less common, it has sprouted a 'decorative' y! It's sad, really.
