[Opinions] Baby Girl Name Opinions
Hello! I'm expecting in August and would like some opinions and middle name suggestions for my (so far) top girl names. Also, if you have any other name suggestions, I'm open to them!Theodora (nn Theo)
Lila
Calliope
Violet

Personally, I like Violet. And I think Lila would be a good middle name for Violet. And looking at all four objectively, I don't think there will be any major problems with the names.
Theodora - Very queenly and elegant. It has lots of nickname potential, so, if Theo doesn't fit her, there is also Theda, Thea, Dora, and Teddy.
Lila - Meh. Sound-wise it is white bread trendy at the moment; it runs together with all the little girls named Layla, Lily, Delilah, etc. There is nothing wrong with it, but it isn't as nice as your other names.
Calliope - I like that is the Muse of epic poetry. Penelope is popular at the moment, so Calliope fits in while being less popular. I'm not a fan of the -pee ending. Callista, Kallisto, Calypso and Calanthe have a similar feel.
Violet - cute, sweet, a little wilting, but the V gives it a bit of nice sharpness.

Congratulations!
All four names are great, and I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. Theodora is probably my favourite, it’s uncommon but still very recognisable, and Theo is a cute nickname (it also offers lots of alternative nicknames like Thea, Dora and Dotty).
I would put Lila second. It’s very cute, simple and recognisable, without being too popular. However, if you put it together with Lily, Lilly, Lillie, Lilya and Lillian, their combined popularity is probably a lot higher (however if popularity isn’t a concern for you then that’s great!)
Next I would put Calliope. I think it’s very sweet name and I like it a lot, but depending on where you are it could get mispronounced easily. I love Cal as a nickname though!
I’d put Violet last. It’s sweet, but I hear it a lot.
Theodora > Lila > Calliope > Violet
For more ideas I suggest Alexandra, Callista, Viola, Victoria, Hazel, Noelle, Mallory and Alice
Good luck!
I like Lila a lot. It’s a name everybody has heard but not everybody knows someone with. Plus, it grows well with a girl.
Yeah, I wish I knew a Lila!
I have it in my personal name list. Most of the names in my list are considered “common” but the thing is, I think people need to name their kids under the consideration that they will be adults one day.
I like to find unique names, but most of my names are elegant rather than childish-sounding, so most should work well on adults. At least I think that’s the case!
Congratulations! Lila is my favorite!Lila Corinne (ca ren)

Ooh, I’ve never heard of it but I like Callidora!!
Theodora is beatiful. I wouldn't nickname her Theo unless she was tomboyish, which one could only find out after seeing how she grows.
Lila is beautiful.
Calliope is beautiful and sort of exotic. The only thing I hate is how there is no perfect spelling that does not trigger me to misprounce it mentally.
Violet is not bad, but all the other options are prettier.Violet Emery
Calliope Violet
Calliope Jane
Calliope Rain
Theodora Violet
Theodora Jane
Lila Maria
Lila Antonia
I love Calliope! It's unpopular enough that it's pretty unique, but it's popular enough that it won't seem "weird". How are you thinking of pronouncing it? There are several pronunciations, but I prefer the Greek one (cal-ee-OH-pee). I think Calliope Violet could work really well!Lila is also one of my personal favorite names! It's short, but super sweet and feminine. I don't think you can go wrong with this one! :)Violet is also stunning, but I kind of think it works better as a middle name.I'm not a huge fan of names that just look like feminized male names. Theodora just makes me think of Theodore. My ranking: Calliope > Lila > Violet > Theodora

Greetings, stranger, I hope you'll enjoy the site. I absolutely love Theodora (though I prefer Thea as a nickname) and I think Violet would make a great middle name. Some other names from my list are Anastasia, Bronwen, Celeste, Elspeth, Saoirse, Seraphina and Tatiana.
After thinking it over a little, I actually might prefer Thea over Theo has a nickname.Thank you for your advice!
