Seriously, it is just too sickly-cute and petlike.

It's cute but maybe too much so. I think Maisie is probably the best spelling. Then its Masie, Maisy, Mazey, Mazie, Mazy and Maizie.

I have always found this name, no matter the spelling, whiney.

I don't understand this spelling - it reminds a lot of 'maize'... I guess it's a British variant, like Tamzin.
