I used to think that most word names were tacky and that many old-fashioned names were ugly. It's very much what
Cleveland Kent Evans said, I might dislike older names because they remind me of old people, not because they are ugly. So, the problem is the age and the imagery that accompanies it, not the actual sound.
My taste has broadened. None of the names that I liked before have gone lower on any tier. I just like more names than I use to. I used to think these were unattractive but now I like them:
Darby,
Gayla,
Geoffrey,
Betty,
Rodge.
